Wilson Holloway were approached to design an extension to an existing property within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The design was conceived in order to limit the visual impact of the alterations by extending to the front of the existing house, creating a new lower ground level that is partially buried in the landscape. The intention is to clad the new section in local stone in response to the natural setting and the famous geological formations of the area.
The original design was quite forward thinking for its day a Scandinavian kit house bought from the Ideal Home Show in the 1960s. St. Brides Bay forms the most westerly tip of wales and famous for its beaches and the protected Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which runs along the back of the property. The house is named after The Sleek Stone, a unique rock that juts out into the sea from the cliff below.
